What happened: On 01.05.2019, around 7:45 p.m., at SEI Skopje, it was reported that on a bus heading
from the Transport Centre to Chento (line no. 45), the public peace and order was disrupted. According
to the report, several individuals insulted verbally А.P.(17), V.М.(16) and F.K.(17), all from Skopje, which was
followed by a physical assault against A.P. and V.M. Measures were taken and around 8:30 p.m., R. А.(21),
Е.А.(15), F.B.(14) and B.R.(15), all from Skopje, were detained at a police station. Measures are being taken
to completely solve the case.
Date, time and place of incident: 01.05.2019, around 7:45 p.m., on a public bus heading from the Transport
Centre to Chento.

Brief description of the event with bias indicators: In this incident the bias motive is ethnicity, with the bias
indicators being:
1. Ethnicity – public buses line no. 45, 55 and 65, heading from Centre to Chento and the
surrounding neighbourhoods are used by people from different ethnicities among which
thrives intolerance;
2. Location – these types of incidents have often occurred on these lines, particularly among
children and young people.
Status of case: Unknown.
Response of the local authorities: The Department for Property Crime and Juvenile Delinquency pressed
criminal charges against the perpetrators on the grounds of reasonable suspicion of having committed the
criminal offence “Violence” pursuant to Article 386 from CC of RNM before the PPPO Skopje.
Impact on the victims and the community: These types of incidents call into question the general safety in
the country and the co-existence among different ethnic groups in society, and reflect particularly poorly
on children’s development and conduct.
