What happened: The Cyber Crime and Digital Forensics Department at the Ministry of Interior pressed criminal charges against B.P. (32) from Skopje and currently working in Germany on reasonable grounds to suspect that he committed the criminal offence of “Spreading Racial and Xenophobic Material via an Information System.” The reported, via an information system, on 06.05.2020, sent an e-mail containing hate speech to a member of a political party and to a member of the Government. Afterwards, B.P., on his Facebook profile posted hate speech referring to the president of a political party. Furthermore, on the same day, B.P. posted hate speech on the Facebook profile of a TV station.

  1. Pattern of previous incidents – inciting and spreading ethnic hatred and inciting violence on social networks is becoming a more common method of committing hate crimes.
