A racial assault in Centre of Skopje – minor beaten due to skin colour

What happened: On 18.04.2019, at 9:40 p.m., at the Police Station Centar, М.А.М.(38) from Skopje, reported
that on the same day, around 6:20 p.m., on “Macedonia Square”, her 13-year old son, who was accompanied
by his brother and sister, were physically assaulted by two unidentified individuals.
Criminal charges were pressed by the Helsinki Committee and by the victim’s mother before the PPPO
Skopje for the criminal offence “Violence” pursuant to Article 386, paragraph 5 from CC of RNM. The Public Prosecutor has still not reached a decision regarding the criminal charges.
Date, time and place of incident: 18.04.2019, around 6:20 p.m., “Macedonia Square”.
