What happened: Several persons were injured in Sveti Nikole when a police officer from the Police
Station in Sveti Nikole, who was not on duty, and a group of citizens disrupted the public order while
celebrating the victory of the candidate for Mayor of Sveti Nikole. Several people were injured and
requested medical assistance in the Hospital of Sveti Nikole.

Response of the local authorities: The MoI’s response to the MHC request for public information
regarding this incident confirmed the incident, stating that on the authorization of the public
prosecutor, the police inspected the scene and interviewed the involved persons and witnesses, and
collected the medical documentation from the Hospital in Sveti Nikole. The interviews along with the prepared official note have been submitted to the Basic Public Prosecution in Sveti Nikole, which
is in charge of clarifying the incident, while the overall documentation on the taken measures was
submitted to the Sector for Internal Control and Professional Standards – Section Shtip.
