What happened: Near the railway station in Demir Kapija, a group of unknown perpetrators committed
robbery over refugee from Iraq. Once they saw that the refugee was asleep, they began to beat him
with fi sts and kicks to the body and head, after which they robbed him of a cell phone and 50 euros.

citizens of the area where the incident occurred;
2. Pattern of previous incidents – this incident is the latest in a growing trend of robberies and attacks
on migrants.
Status of the case: Criminal charges fi led against six persons for the criminal offense “Robbery”.
Response of Local Authorities: In MOI’s response to the Committee’s request for public information
regarding this incident, it is stated that SIA Veles took appropriate measures and action on docu-
menting the event, criminal charges were fi led with the Public Prosecutor’s Offi ce in Veles against six
persons due to a reasonable suspicion that they committed the crime “Robbery” pursuant to Article
237, paragraph 1 of the CC.
