What happened: Todor Petrov, the President of the World Macedonian Congress (WMC), was physically
\nattacked by several unknown persons after the consecration of the cross\u2019s foundation stone in Butel
\nwhere he attended the laying of the foundations of the 51-meter cross, the construction of which
\nwas an initiative of WMC. According to the media information, Petrov was given medical aid at the
\nEmergency Center in Skopje.<\/p>\n

\nthe incident as bias-motivated;
\n2. Time \u2013 the incident happened shortly after the consecration of the cross\u2019s foundation stone in Butel;
\n3. Location – The incident occurred in an area inhabited by a population of different ethnicity and
\nreligious affi liation;
\n4. Nature of violence – the incident took place in public;

Status of the case: Filed criminal charges against three suspects for the attack.
\nResponse of Local Authorities: In MOI\u2019s response to the Committee\u2019s request for public information
\nregarding this incident, it is stated that SIA Skopje submitted the criminal charges to the Public
\nProsecutor\u2019s Offi ce in Skopje.
